Rocket Science was commissioned by Verve Creative and the Arch Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn to design, manage and deliver all technical aspects of the World Youth Day celebrations held in Canberra. The event was a precursor to the official World Youth Day event in Sydney and was held a week prior as part of the planned build up to one of the largest events held in the world. Our brief was to manage all technical equipment, logistics, personnel, temporary structures, fencing and support infrastructure required for an exhibition space with over 100 exhibitors, two indoor live stages, and two outdoor live stages, with video support for the main stage via LED screen. Rocket Science designed and delivered a flawless implementation to a tight budget with no compromise on quality. Local, national and international acts were showcased and over 50 different groups performed on the day to an estimated crowd of around 12,000 people.
