Australian Engineering Excellence Awards

Rocket Science has been staging the Engineering Excellence Awards for Verve Creative and Engineers Australia for a number of years and has used a number of different designs and delivery mechanisms during that time. In 2007 it was decided to “Go Big” using large format multiple projector blended imagery.

The majority of the wall the Great Hall was turned into a projection screen – 18m wide x 6m high and a Watchout control system was used to process and deliver the blended imagery to 3 high output Barco projectors.

The result was spectacular. A big screen means a big message delivery but the creative has to be big as well to realise the potential of the delivery mechanism. The graphics were of the highest quality, thus maximising the effort and money spent to realise the concept.

Rocket Science designed and implemented all technical staging elements, from the large format imagery to the custom curved stage.

The award event won an award itself. The 2007 BT Publishing E-Award for “Awards Night Event of the Year”.
